A Short Write up on Venerable Phra Baidika Dr. K.
Dhammadinna
Venerable Dr. K. Dhammadinna born in Malacca in
1969. At the age of 26 years, on 25th
November 1995, after joining the novitiate program at Buddhist Maha Vihara from
4th November 1995 to 19th November 1995, he decided to
renounce the world and became a Samanera under the Late Venerable Dr. K. Sri
Dhammananda Nayaka Maha Thera as his preceptor and teacher. On 25th August 1996, Venerable
Dr. K. Dhammadinna receive his higher ordination or Upasampada with the Late
Venerable Dr. K. Sri Dhammananda Nayaka Maha Thera as his preceptor and
teacher.
With the encouragement from the Late Chief Rev,
Venerable Dr. K. Dhammadinna register and passed the Diploma in Buddhist
Studies offer by the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPU) held
in August 1997. Venerable Dr. K.
Dhammadinna undertook another Diploma in Buddhist Studies offer by the International
Theravada Buddhist Missionary University (ITBMU), Myanmar and has been
conferred the Diploma of Buddha Dhamma on 1st Jun 2001. Venerable Dr. K. Dhammadinna register for
and passed the Bachelor of Arts offer by the Buddhist and Pali
University of Sri Lanka (BPU) on 1st anuary 2009. Venerable Dr. K. Dhammadinna took the Master
of Arts offer by the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies University
of Kelaniya (PGIPBS) and admitted on 1st Januart 2010
In 22nd January 2010, Venerable K.
Dhammadinna registered for the Master of Philosophy offer by the Postgraduate
Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies University of Kelaniya. In July 2011, the Postgraduate Institute of
Pali and Buddhist Studies University of Kelaniya up-grade Venerable K.
Dhammadinna Master of Philosophy Second year to the First year Doctorate of
Philosophy course. Venerable K.
Dhammadinna was admitted to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy on 22nd
January 2013 by the University of Kelaniya.
On Monday 20th October 2014, Venerable Dr.
K. Dhammadinna was conferred the Thai monastic title of “Phra
Baidika” by the Singapore Thai Sangha at Wat Uttamayanmuni, Choa Chu Kang,
Singapore.
